Paint Artist Wanted

Loading Zone Arts is looking for a fun, personable and creative artist to join our team. Must be able to guide classes up to 20 people and provide step by step 2-hour instruction for an original acrylic painting.

Must be available on weekends and have reliable transportation.

Loading Zone Arts is hiring event interns!

Established in 2012 in Chinatown, Loading Zone hosts visual and performing arts events and shows. We have produced many successful First Friday events and other in-house multimedia art showcases.  The company was also featured on New York Times Travel section.  We are now mobile and has multiple monthly events, including our popular Sangria and Paint events at Ward and in Chinatown. We are looking for enthusiastic, punctual and creative interns to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in weekly virtual planning meetings with team members
  • Assisting various event coordinators in events including: sangria & paint events, dance event productions, art showcase, weddings and concerts
  • Assisting in all aspects of event production: networking, planning, marketing, and execution
  • Social media management and development
  • Video and photography support during events
  • A minimum 3-month commitment required
  • Ability to work on weekends a must; interns must work two events per month

Qualifications:

  • College students or recent graduates preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge in Google drive and virtual office
  • Knowledge of WordPress, graphic design and video-editing experience a plus.

October First Friday “POP Art” at a glance

Our October First Friday event was a successful and fun-packed evening filled with interactive arts: stencil workshop, art exhibition, jewelry display, dance performance, and Pop-Up boards posing area!

It was wonderful to see guests and families of all ages unloading their creativity at Loading Zone. Our POP Art exhibition will continue through the month of October.

If you missed our stencil workshop, don’t fret!  Come to our Artist Reception on Friday, October 19th.  Our FREE stencil workshop is back by popular demand.

 

“Get The Word Out: Basics” Marketing Workshop

Thank you to Poi Planet and SMO Hawaii for an informative (and FREE) marketing workshop for our artists and non-profits!

In the workshop, Tracy Larrua of Poi Planet covered marketing basics for any business + the basics of drafting a press release.  Gibi of SMO Hawaii talked about how to effectively use social media tools, including key word identification and social media triangulation.

Our free kids-friendly GYOTAKU art workshop by Brandon Tengan was a HIT!  We were very excited to see some keiki making their first Gyotaku art with real fish!  Thank you also to all the dancers who came out to grace our dance floor, as well as DJ’s Godiva & Matt Barberi for some great ambiance and dance music.
